icon Mechanical served as the design/build mechanical contractor for this 146,000 square foot office/beer warehouse facility. The facility is designed to Anheuser Busch specifications complete with office, controlled environment warehouse, draught cooler, drive-thru truck loading area, and truck wash bay.

The owner’s desire for the most energy-efficient beer warehouse resulted in the country’s first-ever geothermal beer warehouse. icon provided grant paperwork and energy modeling for the owner to receive an energy efficiency grant for Ameren Illinois ActOnEnergy. This building was completed in the Summer of 2010.

icon Mechanical designed the lake source geothermal HVAC system with a 60,000 ft. geothermal loop in the site’s five-acre lake. The loop is connected to three 50-ton reversible chillers, which provide chilled water and heating water simultaneously. The loop feeds water source condensers for the draught cooler. The condensers are connected to refrigerant evaporators. The office is served by 50-tons of water source heat pumps with high efficiency condensing boiler backup. The drive-thru is heated with hot water unit heaters and has Rite Hite ceiling fans to provide air movement. The drive-thru contains NOx detectors and exhaust systems to remove pollutants from building, and the wash bay is heated with infrared heaters.
