The $53,000,000.00 Pershing Elementary School was a new construction project in University City School District near St. Louis, MO. The new school consists of two stories, 30 classrooms including specialty classrooms, workshops, science labs, offices, a gymnasium and a library. The facility is over 60,000 square-foot. The school has the capacity to accommodate up to 500 students. Pershing Elementary was constructed in 2011-2012 and is in the process of seeking a LEED certification.

icon Mechanical was responsible for designing, installing and commissioning all HVAC systems in the facility. This included installing a Daikin System that consisted of 5 individual condensing units with a total of 59 fan coil units and 55 branch selector boxes stretched out across the school. Then we installed 3 roof top units to condition the larger areas such as, the gymnasium, the library and the cafeteria.

icon Mechanical self-performed the installation with our own trade workers. There was over 6,000 foot of refrigerant pipe installed and over 1,500 linear feet of spiral and rectangular ductwork that went into the building. With the new Daikin System, the school has seen an incredible energy savings.
