icon Mechanical served as the design/build mechanical contractor for this facility expansion. The key to this successful project was icon’s ability to prefabricate the piping systems into overhead sections that would allow Kraft to maintain production during construction by minimizing interferences. This also allowed for fabrication to begin before the building steel arrived on site.
The expansion required a new mechanical room, HVAC for three building expansions, piping for new process equipment, and a new product assembly line. The mechanical room and capacity expansion were completed in seven (7) months. A new product process and assembly line was designed, coordinated, installed and operational in less than five (5) months. The design team worked diligently with the owner, craftsmen and other trades to bring this project in on time despite multiple equipment delivery delays.

All of the stainless process piping was fabricated and assembled into 40’ sections with three (3) tiers including all flanged connections and insulations as required by the specifications.
