Granite City, IL — April 14, 2025 — icon Mechanical is proud to announce that it has been awarded national recognition, placing third in the Specialty Company division (1 Million – 1.35 Million Work Hours) for Construction Safety Excellence by the Associated General Contractors of America. This prestigious award recognizes icon Mechanical’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and health in the construction industry, as well as outstanding performance on safety and loss prevention programs.
The AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA), sponsored by WTW | Willis and Starr Companies, is the industry’s elite safety excellence awards program. The CSEA recognizes companies that have developed and implemented premier safety and risk control programs and showcases companies that have achieved continuous improvement and maintenance of their safety and health management systems.

Shryock went on to thank both Rebecca Grutsch (STL region Site Safety Supervisor, icon) and Lexi Knapp (Pipefitter Journeyman, Local 562) for their critical contributions to the group’s final presentation during the finalist process in Columbus, OH. “Their hard work and dedication played a major role in why IMI is a standout contender – even more so considering this was our company’s very first time submitting for this award,” said Shryock. “The judges found it particularly eye-opening to see our innovative and effective safety practices, especially when compared to other companies that have been vying for this recognition for years.”
