icon Mechanical served as the design-assist partner engineer for the core and shell of this 20-story, 566,000 square foot, Class A Office building and adjacent, 600,000 square foot parking garage in downtown Nashville, TN. The tower serves as Amazon’s Operations Center of Excellence.

icon prefabricated to the maximum extent which enabled this fast-track project to stay on pace with the expedited schedule.

Our services included the delivery and install of 20 Daikin vertical self-contained units, two cooling towers, sand filter and a parking exhaust system.

Components such as VAVs were assembled with discharge duct and control sensors were pre-assembled and installed in our Granite City, IL, prefabrication shop (HQ) prior to transport. Pipe and duct risers were also fabricated at our shops and set in place with a tower crane once on site.

icon’s project installation team used a parallel construction path to install equipment and components during the night shift. This action occurred while the building was being erected, serving to further drive the project schedule. The pipe risers were set in 4-story lifts, requiring only two hours of crane time per set.

The project also included a 16,000 lb. condenser pump skid which was prefabricated in Granite City, IL and modularized to the site.
